The interviews are carried out by Kobius, and posted individually as new topics in the announcements forum. Sig of the Week is a weekly competition that absolutely anyone with a basic knowledge of graphics can get involved in. Simply enter a relevant signature into the submission stage of the competition of the current week, then await the results of the public vote. Only the #1 winning signatures are adding to our archive, for a permanent position of graphics greatness. The more people that vote, the more chance you have of winning!
Relatively new to the AZ, Photo of the Week offers something more to those who aren't neccessarily avid graphic artists. Great with a camera? Born with a photogenic smile? POTW is another weekly contest where contestants compete for their chance to be permanently added to our photography archive. Once again, it's a contest that is open to anyone; professional photographers and first time camera snappers alike.
Artist of the month is a status achieveable by any artist in the community, it just takes a little more enthusiasm for art and a creative attitude towards the profession. We like to make sure the most dedicated artists are rewarded, and the only way of telling a dedicated artist apart from the crowd is their initiative. There's no submission stage, no voting, AOTM is chosen by the staff of the AZ, so be sure to impress the judges to get your face on the front page.
Before the Featured Art section was created, we were using a system of Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. While these prestigious awards were great to receive, they became increasing difficult to deliver. Our new system of awarding the premium submissions to the gallery allows the very best to be featured in the rotating banner at the top of AZHome, along with being promoted to get maximum activity and praise from the community.
